Cylindrical Poles

Cylindrical poles are usually used for decorative, non-structural applications such as post and rail fences and jungle gyms.

Cylindrical poles are machine-turned by a lathe to have a constant diameter through the length of the pole. During the machining process, much of the cambium (outer layer) of the poles are removed which provides the strength in normal tapered poles. Cylindrical poles are therefore not as strong as a tapered pole and do not have a SABS grading for the strength. They are intended for non-structural applications but can be used in applications such as fences, roofs, and jungle gyms if this reduced strength is taken into consideration.

They are treated with either CCA to H4 or Vacsol Azure H2 as required.

We do not stock cylindrical poles but order and can supply quickly.
